Tonight’s bed room

So a night by the river feeling like I am back in Germany cold wet and by the Rhine hell that’s a lifetime ago but it feels pretty good just wish I had my bike instead of the car but the snow at the top of the pass might of changed my mind.  Made a visit to a pie shop the place where Jon and I stopped at when we rode the Molesworth about 4 years ago good memories and  really the start of Jon’s journey into the world of outdoors education and here we are in Murchison him taking his Kayak 1 awesome.

Bunny Wabbits

Well I have invaders on my land and as cute as can be. I have found their home and just need to contain them now as where there is one soon there will be lots. So next how to trap them and what to do with them. I have been looking at the possibilities of having tame rabbits for a way of making manure for the garden as the are cheap to keep and can provide valuable nutrients to the garden  as well as a food source if required.

So what I do know is this is the rabbit nest so I am unlikely to find the doe there as she will only return to feed the a couple of times a day so I need to remove the feeling of security to make her go else where as I am really not keen on becoming a regular nesting location as NZ has no predators that effectively control rabbit numbers and in 1997 Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD) was illegally released into NZ and knowingly spread by some farmers, much like the use of 1080 it is a horrible way for any creature to die.
